Pace Students Win Mahatma Rice Scholarship

By Daniela de Leon

Congratulations to Jorge Perez and Jessica Castillo, both graduating seniors of Monsignor Edward Pace High School, for winning the Mahatma Rice Scholarship- a scholarship award in which winners receive $2,000 towards their upcoming college life.  Participants are expected to write an essay on the topic: “How do I believe my studies in college will change my life?” This essay competition spans across California and Florida, creating room for many entries and steep competition. Impressively, this will be Pace’s third consecutive year of having at least one student win this prestigious award.

Jessica will be attending Dade Bilingual Honors College in the coming fall, and Jorge will start this fall at UF to earn a degree in marine biology. Once again, congratulations to the Pace High School winners for all their hard work!
